The Master.
The chief work of the Holy Spirit is to reveal and glorify Christ Jesus in us. Christ must become to us a real living person, always with us and in us. Our life on earth must be an everyday fellowship with him until we know and experience his life of life.
God's desire is that; we be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in our hearts by faith; that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that we might be filled with all the fulness of God (Ephesians 3:16-19).
This was the joy of the Apostles. They had received the Lord Jesus, whom they feared they had lost, as the heavenly Christ into their hearts. Christianity is the indwelling life of Christ in a man, it is the expression of his potentialities, his attributes, perfections and excellencies through a man. God's plan is that we should be so soaked into Christ, until we are lost in him and never to be found or known by our earthly lineage. We must be so identified with him that he becomes our all, then the world will look at us and believe that truly we are the children of our heavenly Father.
