The Meaning Of Faith.
In the Old Testament, faith was based on God's promises, they trusted that he would do what he promised. In the New Testament, things are different, all of God's promises have been fulfilled in Jesus Christ. In other words, God is not going to do anything for anyone. They trusted God to do something, We trust in the finished work of Calvary. Today it is not scriptural to ask God to do something for us, or to ask him to bless, prosper, heal, deliver anyone of us, because all these things have already been done. Sadly many are still praying like they did in the old covenant, no wander they not getting answers. Jesus Christ has abolished the terms and conditions of the old contract, he brought us into a new order.
Ephesians 1:3 says; Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places. Notice the tenses, it says "he has already blessed us."For us faith is believing that; what the Word of God says is done, is actually done; and who the Word says you are, you actually are. You take him at his Word, regardless of what is happening around you. When you do this, what he has already done, will manifest itself to you. The Word will produce in your life what it talks about, it will become flesh. Faith is aligning our thoughts, confessions and actions with the Word of God. You call yourself what the Word has called you, you act and think like it and reject anything that says otherwise. Your life will take the shape of your thoughts, words and actions, so God gave us his Word so that we can shape our thoughts, words and actions and manifest the life which he has given us in Jesus Christ.
