The day you decide never to rely on your human ability or strength for sustenance, is the day you begin to walk by faith and not by sight. Walking with the Lord is a faith decision, and whenever you walk by faith the flesh will suffer, yet your spirit will gain the most. Never look to human beings for help, because no human is self sufficient enough to help another, only the Lord. Psalm 118:8 says, It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in humans. In your dealings with man, the bible says the only debt you owe them is love, so love everybody but don't put your trust on anybody.
The more we grow spiritually should be the more we learn not to depend on the flesh but on God. One day the disciples of Jesus asked him a question, they said; “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" (Matthew 18:1). His response was, "unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 18:2). What was the man saying? Well a child is depended on his/her parents for everything, we too must walk by faith and be dependent on our heavenly Father for everything. The carnal man thinks he knows everything, he thinks he does not need God, but the spiritual matured has learnt that life is controlled in the realm of the spirit, and to win in this life he must operate more in that realm than he does in the physical realm, so he looks to the Word of God and rules the universe with the principles of heaven. Jesus put it this way; "apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15:5). I don't care how much your bank balance is, without Jesus you are sunk. You need him more than you could ever know.
