The 3 fights every believer must fight

The Bible mentions only 3 types of fight every believer will be engaged in, Satan only has 3 strategies, master these 3, you will beat him at every stage. Against Jesus he used 3 temptations (Matthew 4), that means he only has 3 weapons. He may change the tactics, but the strategies are still the same ones he used against, Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, and the rest of them. He may come in a suit or in jeans, but he is the same ancient serpent who appeared to Adam and Eve.

1. Spiritual warfare

This fight happens when there is a confrontation between you and the spiritual forces of darkness. These are agents of evil in the demonic realm sent by Satan to destroy your life. Paul talking about this fight wrote; “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:11-12). As long as you are a believer in Jesus Christ, you cannot escape this fight, it may take years, months or weeks, of Satan planning against you, but anticipate his coming, and be fully dressed in your spiritual armour. 2. The battlefield in the mind.

This fight is a result of wrong information which we have encapsulated into our thoughts through the five senses. Most of this information is negative and contradicts the Word of God. The Bible says concerning this war, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). This information creates strongholds (thoughts which challenge the Word of God), imaginations (pictures that contradict the Word) and high things (human experience which seems to challenge the reality of God’s Word). Romans 12:2 tells us how to fight this war, “be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”. The only way to win this fight is by changing our way of thinking through studying and meditating on the Word. further study: https://trevor-chuma.wixsite.com/website/single-post/2018/06/05/Pulling-Down-Of-Strong-Holds. 3. The Game of Temptations.

The first fight has to do with hardships and persecutions, to win such a war requires faith and prayer. The second war has got nothing to do with the devil, it is just a matter of a wrong mindset which must be changed. This last fight is found in James 1:14-13, “each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.” Temptations are threefold, first there is a temptation of the body, then of the soul and of the spirit. Under this three groups you will find lust of the flesh, pride of life, love of money and worldly standards. 2 Timothy 2:22 tells us how to fight this last fight; “Flee from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.”.
