What Jesus Came to Give Us

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field (Matthew 13:44).

The Word field in the above verse, means the whole world in a prophetic language, the treasure hidden in the field is the human beings in the world, the man who sold everything he had to buy the field is Christ. By coming to the world. the Lord sold everything he had, to become one like us, so that he could win us back to himself. It is like an a human being becoming an Ant to save Ants. The salvation which Christ wrought was by faith, there was no guarantee, that human beings would believe on him, he had to have faith that it would work. And his faith worked, this is why we are here today, hallelujah.

The Lord Jesus looked at us with the eyes of faith, he saw what we could become, he saw what he would make out of us. Michelangelo said, "I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free". No wander Paul the Apostle wrote, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20). The man had come to understand the faith of Jesus Christ, he said; "I live by the faith of Son of God who loved me, who loved me and gave himself for me". Paul had come to believe that no matter what happened to him, he would come out victorious because Jesus Christ had seen him win by faith.

Some people think all Jesus came to do was save us from sin; but that’s just one side of the story. He saved us from our sins alright, but He did that for a purpose—to make us sons of God! His ultimate aim was to give us a new life, the God-life! He looked at sinners and saw Sons of God. Having seen the treasure in the field, the Lord Jesus went and sold everything he had to buy this treasure. This treasure was so expensive that it cost his life, he had to sell himself in exchange for us, he gave up everything he had to buy us.

Do you see how important you are to God? The gospel of Jesus Christ is the gospel of substitution, he gave himself for us so that we could give ourselves to him. Christianity is the story of love, even though Jesus died for each and every human being, he does not force himself on anyone. Christianity is not a religion, it is a love walk with the Lord Jesus. Religion is a set of rules forced on man to obey, but our Lord is not like that, we follow because we love him. Where there is force, there is no love, Satan is normal the dude who forces himself on people, he does not understand the word love.
