Let us stay here

The Bible talks about how Jesus was transfigured before the eyes of his disciples. “And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him” (Mathew 17:1-3). Upon seeing the glory which they had seen on that mountain, the Bible says Peter wanted this experience to continue for forever (Mathew 17:4). He never wanted to go back to his everyday life, he wanted to stay on that mountain with Jesus. This mountain is symbolic of that place of glory in Christ, which we are ruptured into, from time to time.

At times you can be praying, and the presence of God covers you like a blanket. You literally feel a covering of glory on your body, at other times the Spirit of God can take over your tongue, and you begin saying pure and well constructed sentences you were not thinking of. And at other times he can take over your physical body such that you start making movements by the Spirit. This place is so glorious, it is a glimpse of heaven. From time to time, God gives us a glimpse of heaven, this is so that we can have that tangible experience of our eternal home whilst on Earth. This is the mountain Peter did not want to leave, Paul having experienced the same thing in the Spirit said, “I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better” (Philippians 1:24). Heaven is a wonderful place, by the Spirit you can have a taste of it whilst still one earth. I am sure looking forward to it.
