Everything which is said to be a revelation from God must fall under the three revelation gifts given in the Scriptures. Any Revelation outside the revelation gifts is not from God, whether you had a dream, prophecy or a vision makes no difference. A revelation from God can be conditional or non conditional. By Conditional I mean, the matter cannot come to pass without you participating, this means you can stop it from happening or make it happen. The non Conditional ones are those matters which have been divinely planned to happen, come rain or sunshine,the vision will come to pass. The Scriptures show us three revelation gifts through which God grants his revelation (1Corin12:8). 1. Word of Knowledge
- This is a revelation of things presently happening,this means God grants you the revelation of the hour. This revelation can come by either a dream, vision or prophecy. 2. Word of Wisdom
-This is a revelation of things to come, the things in the mind of God concerning the future. Now this can be conditional or non conditional. if it is non conditional, God reveals it so that you can be prepared for what is coming. if its conditional, he could be warning you of the coming danger, and that you must pray to stop it. 3. Discerning of Spirits
- There are three types of spirits, Satan, Man, and God. With this revelation you are able to discern which spirit is at work. Just because someone told you the future and it comes to pass, it doesn't necessarily mean he is from God. You need to discern the spirit with which he was able to see into the future. Also this gift can help you discern people with evil motives.
