In the Book of Ephesians, chapter 6, the Bible talks about our military attire in the spirit. Christianity is more than going to church and singing happy Hallelujah, we may be humble, nice and kind, but don’t, mistake that for weakness, we are very militant. The Bible lists these 7 things as part of the attire:
1. The Truth.
Truth is the Word of God, this means whatever the Word has said about you should be the final authority in your life. Forget the contradicting circumstances and situations around you, the Word of God should become the only reality you see. “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (John 17:17).
2. The Shield of Faith.
Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.(Romans 10:17). You need faith to quench the fiery darts of the enemy. You therefor need to study and get the Word into your spirit. The Word in you will give you the all conquering mindset. The fiery darts of the enemy will be directed at your mind, he will send people to speak negativity to you, and to speak against your faith. When the Word is in you, you will remain unshaken.
3. The Sword of the Spirit.
The Word of God in your mouth becomes a sword in the realm of the spirit, this means you need to talk, and keep talking it, until it manifests in your life what it talks about. For example, they may say it is normal for every human being to catch a cold now and then, but you respond with the scripture and say, “And no resident of Zion will say, “I am sick.”(Isaiah 33:24 ). Refuse to be sick, I will never be sick in my life, never.
4. Praying in the Spirit.
Praying in tongues is very important, the one who prays in tongues utter mysteries by the Spirit ( 1 Corinthians 14:2). This language will help you say spiritual mysteries which words cannot fathom, you utter spiritual codes and secrets as the Spirit of God gives you utterance. The Holy Spirit knows all the secrets you will need to become a winner in life, through tongues, he helps you pray for such mysteries.
5. The Helmet of Salvation.
The Helmet of salvation means you will need to be saved for this things to work for you. I don’t care how smart you are, you can never defeat Satan with your own strength and wisdom, you need Jesus to win against the enemy.
6. Breastplate of Righteousness.
Being self righteous and being a good man will never send a man to heaven, it is only when we accept the free gift of the righteousness of God which is through Christ Jesus. If you try to fight Satan with your Mr good man attitude, he will beat you down with your nice and calm attitude. “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him" (2 Corinthians 5:21).
7. The Gospel of Peace.
Another weapon to fighting this war, is preaching the gospel. Wherever you go, talk about Jesus. The Bible says, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!" (Isaiah 52:7
