The Preeminence Of Christ

1. He Is the Image Of God.

Jesus is not some legend that passed down through time, he is the exact physical image of God. When you look at Jesus, you are seeing the fullness of God, how God is, was revealed in the person of Jesus. Colossians 1:15 says, “The Son is the image of the invisible God.” The Holy Spirit took God, turned Him into a seed and put Him in the womb of a woman, and that seed became Jesus! In Jesus, eternity was infused into time, that which existed in the invisible realm came into the visible realm. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. (John 1:14)

2. He Created All Things.

Christ created all things, both in heaven and earth. Colossians 1:15 “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible.” Jesus is the Word of God made flesh, the Bible tells us that all things were created by the Word (John 1:3). Jesus is the Word that spoke during creation (Genesis 1), he is the word who spoke to Abraham, Moses and the all the Saints of old. The voice who spoke from the heavens long ago, became a human being. John wrote, That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched--this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. (1 John 1:2)

3. Everything Is Subject to Him.

The Lord Jesus Christ has the dominion over all things, including men, angels, and demons; things in heaven. Philippians 2:9-11 says, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth.” God appointed Jesus to be the heir of all things, including His throne. In heaven, there's a great white throne, and Jesus is the one sitting on that throne. He is in control of all things, this is why any excess to heaven is through him.
